A decade of teaching and a decade of parenting children who have experienced early trauma drives Helen's passion to support others in their approach to children and young people, as well as taking care of their own wellbeing as professionals and parents. 

 

In her previous career as a Primary school teacher and Special educational needs co-ordinator, she realised the pressures on professionals to do their job, support young people but also to stay well themselves.  As a Foster parent, Adopter and Biological parent, she has parented over fifteen children with various levels of Developmental Trauma and complex needs and had to retrain, relearn, and readjust to all this brings.

Helen has worked as an independent Therapeutic Parenting Coach and Trainer and has provided private Therapeutic Parenting and Special Educational Needs coaching and support to families and consultancy for schools and organisations, to support an organisational approach to trauma and personal wellbeing for professionals.

 

Helen is available to deliver our training to schools in the East Midlands region or online with school settings across the country as an Associate Trainer/Consultant. I am delighted to have Helen working alongside me - she brings an incredible amount of knowledge, experience and passion to her work.
